Glide Vizion

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with my cameras?#

If it speaks RTSP, it works — Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Reolink, Amcrest and most ONVIF cameras, plus NVR/DVR boxes. Point it at the stream URL and go. See cameras & compatibility for per-vendor URL formats.

Is my footage actually private?#

Yes. Video never leaves your network. The only things that touch the cloud are a one-time license check and an optional update notice — neither carries a frame of video. Even remote access is brokered, not relayed: video goes peer-to-peer between your phone and your recorder.

How hard is it to set up?#

Download, drop in your camera URLs, run. You get a live grid in the browser in minutes — no account required to start. The get started page walks through it in three steps.

What does it cost?#

Free forever on one camera — the full product, no card, no account. $50 once unlocks up to 50 cameras: no subscription, no per-camera fees, no bill to watch your own footage. Updates are included forever. Details on the license page.

Where does it run?#

macOS and Linux natively, or Docker on anything — Proxmox, a NAS, or Windows via Docker Desktop. One small static binary. Idle CPU stays under 10% with 16 cameras recording on an M1 Max, because bytes are never re-encoded.

Which browsers can watch the live grid?#

Safari and Chrome on Mac play HEVC natively. Browsers that can’t decode HEVC (Firefox, Chrome without hardware HEVC) automatically get an H.264 compatibility stream — transcoded on demand for that viewer only, never for recording. iPhones use the native app or HLS.
